The Potomac, Daily Oil Painting by Tim Webster

"The Potomac"
Original Oil Painting on Canvas Panel
5" x 7"
November 30, 2010
By Tim Webster

In this oil painting I wanted to do something a little different then painting the normal rivers that do. This one is focused on the Potomac River located on the western shore of Maryland and Virgina. I also want to try something a little different by using defined brush strokes. I had a blast doing this one!

I like this particular contest because it give you the opportunity to paint and google image within the selected boundaries for the monthly painting contest. This month was focused on the island is Hawaii. I picked this image because Ive always liked surfing, and they say the best place for surf in Hawaii is the North Shore. I was lucky enough to find this great image a beach located on the Kamehameha Highway. If you like my painting please vote for me here at the Google Street View Contest

Greens and Blues, Daily Oil Painting by Tim Webster

"Greens and Blues"
Original Oil Painting on Canvas Panel
5" x 7"
November 18, 2010
By Tim Webster

Earlier today I went outback of my old house out in the country and painted this. This is one of my favorite plein air paintings that I've done yet. I love the style of plein air paintings and I'm slowly but surely learning the techniques. What I like most about this is one is the greens and blues, both very strong throughout the painting as well as the actual view. I hope you all have a pleasant day!

So in this painting I wanted to play around with my palette knife. Over the weekend my friend and I were talking about birch wood trees, I think she wanted to paint one...but I think I may have beat her to it, haha. This was a fun a little painting, only having done a few palette knife paintings, doing this one makes me want to do more in the future. Hope you all have a great day!

Daytime Skyline, Daily Oil Painting by Tim Webster

"Daytime Skyline"
Original Oil Painting on Canvas Panel
5" x 7"
November 12, 2010
By Tim Webster

I love visiting cities. And I have to say that New York is my most favorite one. So many people and so many things to do. The city moves fast, not much time to sleep. Though it is called the city that never sleeps. Another thing that I like about the city is all the different people and cultures. I hope you like this skyline as much as I like the city. Have a solid weekend everyone!

The drive home from the town of Cambridge was somewhat long, about 15 miles. Maybe for some that may not be that long, but as a kid it was. This particular painting is what I saw every evening on the drive home. I wanted to focus on a clear fall/winter sunset. This painting was a blast to do. I hope you guys dig it!

Brannocks Bay, Daily Oil Painting by Tim Webster

"Bannock's Bay"
Original Oil Painting on Canvas Panel

By Tim Webster

This painting right here is an image that I remember seeing everyday as kid living outside of Cambridge, MD. I painted this completely out of memory. The tiny paddle boat was the only way to get to the bigger crab boat that we would have tied up the same pole that the skiff is tied to. I hope you enjoyed this painting as much as I do. Have a great day!
